I've added a "Working Ubuntu AMI Configuration" section which summarizes the steps I took to configure and load an 8 core Ubuntu (version 9.10) AMI. Getting gcc/OpenMP working was a snap. Although I haven't actually tried this yet, I glanced over whats up so far and noticed someone said we'll have to install a distributed storage across our nodes for MPI to run. I don't think this is necessary. If MPD is up on each node and you have the IP of each node then MPI should be able to run. Acadien 14:55, 19 April 2010 (EDT)
